A New Gold Dynamic Leverage Account | Available Upon Special Request
Gold (XAUUSD) is one of the most popular trading instruments among Forex and CFD traders. At ONEXAR, we have noticed strong interest in Gold trading, and we understand that different traders have different requirements.
Some traders prefer smaller trading volumes, while others trade larger positions. Their margin requirements can be very different.
To provide more flexibility, ONEXAR is introducing a Special Gold Dynamic Leverage Account offering leverage of up to 1:500. This new account is available exclusively upon special request.
But before choosing this account, it is important to understand how the leverage works, how much margin is required, and how it compares with ONEXAR's existing Gold trading conditions.
Let's explain everything with simple examples.
1. What Is Dynamic Leverage?
Dynamic leverage means that the leverage changes based on your trading volume.
For example, under ONEXAR's new account:
The most important point:
When your trading volume increases, the leverage on your earlier volume bands does not change.
Only the additional volume receives the next applicable leverage.
For example, if you are trading 3 lots at 1:500 leverage and decide to add another 2 lots, your first 3 lots continue at 1:500. Only the additional 2 lots receive 1:300 leverage.
This is called Progressive Dynamic Leverage.
It allows different portions of your total Gold trading volume to receive different leverage levels.
2. How Much Margin Do You Need to Trade Gold?
Let's assume the current Gold price is $4,100. For our examples, we use the standard Gold contract size of 100 ounces per lot.
Margin is the amount of money your broker sets aside from your account to maintain a trading position. It is not a trading fee or an automatic loss. However, the margin remains committed while the position is open.
Here is a simple example.
Trading 1 Lot of Gold
With ONEXAR's existing 1:200 Gold leverage:
You need approximately $2,050 in margin.
With the new special 1:500 Gold leverage:
You need approximately $820 in margin.
That means the new account requires $1,230 less margin to open the same 1-lot Gold position.
This leaves more free margin available in your account. However, remember that lower margin does not mean lower trading risk.
3. How Does ONEXAR's New Dynamic Leverage Work?
Let's understand the new leverage structure with practical examples.
Level 1 – First 3 Lots at 1:500 Leverage
This is the highest leverage offered under the new account.
At a Gold price of $4,100:
For traders using smaller Gold volumes, this can provide considerable margin flexibility compared with the existing 1:200 leverage.
Level 2 – Next 2 Lots at 1:300 Leverage
Now imagine that you are already holding 3 lots of Gold. You decide to open another 2 lots.
What happens? Your first 3 lots continue receiving 1:500 leverage. Only the additional 2 lots receive 1:300 leverage.
Margin calculation:
First 3 lots at 1:500 = $2,460
Next 2 lots at 1:300 = $2,733.33
Total margin for 5 lots = $5,193.33
Your earlier leverage remains unchanged.
Level 3 – Next 5 Lots at 1:200 Leverage
Now imagine that your total Gold trading volume increases to 10 lots. The margin is calculated in three parts.
First 3 lots at 1:500 = $2,460
Next 2 lots at 1:300 = $2,733.33
Next 5 lots at 1:200 = $10,250
Total margin for 10 lots = $15,443.33
Even though your total trading volume has reached 10 lots, your first 3 lots still receive 1:500 leverage.
Only the additional trading volume moves into the next leverage band.
Level 4 – Next 15 Lots at 1:100 Leverage
Let's say you already have 10 lots of Gold open. Now you decide to add another 5 lots. Your total Gold trading volume becomes 15 lots. The first 10 lots continue under their earlier leverage bands.
Only the additional 5 lots receive 1:100 leverage.
Margin calculation:
First 10 lots = $15,443.33
Additional 5 lots at 1:100 = $20,500
Total margin for 15 lots = $35,943.33
This is where traders need to pay closer attention. As trading volume increases, the additional margin required for each new lot becomes higher.
Level 5 – Additional Lots Above 25 at 1:50 Leverage
Now consider a trader holding 30 lots of Gold. The first 25 lots are calculated using the earlier leverage bands. Any additional volume beyond 25 lots receives 1:50 leverage.
Margin calculation:
First 3 lots at 1:500 = $2,460
Next 2 lots at 1:300 = $2,733.33
Next 5 lots at 1:200 = $10,250
Next 15 lots at 1:100 = $61,500
Remaining 5 lots at 1:50 = $41,000
Total margin for 30 lots = $117,943.33
This shows why the new account is particularly worth considering for smaller-volume traders, while larger-volume traders should carefully compare both account structures.
4. Existing ONEXAR Gold Leverage vs. New Special Gold Leverage
Is the new 1:500 leverage account better than ONEXAR's existing Gold account?
The answer depends on how much Gold you normally trade. Under ONEXAR's existing Gold trading conditions, traders generally receive up to 1:200 leverage, with leverage reducing to 1:100 after the relevant volume exceeds 100 lots.
Under the new special account, leverage starts at 1:500 but reduces across smaller volume bands. Let's compare them using the same Gold price of $4,100.
Example 1 – Trading 1 Lot
Existing ONEXAR Account
Leverage: 1:200
Required margin: $2,050
New Special Gold Account
Leverage: 1:500
Required margin: $820
Difference: $1,230 less margin with the new account.
Example 2 – Trading 5 Lots
Existing ONEXAR Account
Leverage: 1:200
Required margin: $10,250
New Special Gold Account
Progressive leverage from 1:500 to 1:300
Required margin: $5,193.33
Difference: Approximately $5,056.67 less margin with the new account.
Example 3 – Trading 10 Lots
Existing ONEXAR Account
Leverage: 1:200
Required margin: $20,500
New Special Gold Account
Progressive leverage across the first three bands
Required margin: $15,443.33
Difference: Approximately $5,056.67 less margin with the new account.
Example 4 – Trading 25 Lots
Existing ONEXAR Account
Leverage: 1:200
Required margin: $51,250
New Special Gold Account
Progressive leverage across the first four bands
Required margin: $76,943.33
Difference: Approximately $25,693.33 more margin required with the new account.
What Does This Comparison Mean?
The new special account offers higher leverage and lower margin requirements for smaller Gold trading volumes.
However, as trading volume increases, the existing account can become more margin-efficient.
The new account is not necessarily better for every trader.
If you normally trade smaller Gold positions, the new account may offer additional flexibility.
If you regularly trade larger Gold volumes, your existing account may be more suitable.
5. Does Higher Leverage Mean Higher Profit?
This is one of the most important questions.
No. Higher leverage does not automatically increase your profit.
Let's understand with an example. Two traders open the same 1-lot Gold buy position at $4,100.
Trader A uses 1:200 leverage.
Trader B uses 1:500 leverage.
Now imagine Gold increases from $4,100 to $4,110. The price has increased by $10.
For 1 standard Gold lot, both traders earn approximately $1,000 profit, excluding trading costs.
Now imagine Gold falls from $4,100 to $4,090 instead. Both traders experience approximately $1,000 loss, excluding trading costs.
The profit and loss are the same because both traders opened the same position size. The difference is the margin required to open that position.
Higher leverage reduces the required margin, but it does not reduce the market risk.
It may also encourage traders to open larger positions than their capital can safely support.
6. Who Can Consider the New Gold Dynamic Leverage Account?
Smaller-Volume Gold Traders
Traders who normally trade smaller Gold positions may benefit from the lower initial margin requirements.
Experienced Gold Traders
Traders who understand Gold volatility, position sizing, and margin management may consider this new account for additional trading flexibility.
Intraday Traders
Traders who frequently open and close smaller Gold positions may find the new margin structure useful.
Expert Advisor and Automated Traders
The account may also be considered by traders using MT5 Expert Advisors.
However, traders using grid, recovery, averaging, or multiple-entry strategies should carefully review how their total Gold exposure increases.
As an Expert Advisor opens additional positions, the required margin can increase substantially when the trading volume moves into higher bands.
Larger-Volume Traders
Traders who frequently hold 10, 25, or more Gold lots should compare the new account with ONEXAR's existing Gold leverage conditions.
The existing account may offer lower margin requirements for larger positions.
7. Important Things to Remember Before Using 1:500 Leverage
1. Lower margin does not mean lower risk.
Even if a position requires less margin, the potential trading loss remains linked to the position size and market movement.
2. Do not increase your trading volume simply because higher leverage is available.
Your position size should be based on your trading capital and risk tolerance.
3. Always maintain sufficient free margin.
Gold can experience sudden price movements. Keeping additional free margin can help you manage market fluctuations, although it cannot guarantee protection against losses or stop-out.
4. Understand the dynamic leverage bands.
As your total Gold exposure increases, the additional trading volume receives lower leverage and requires more margin.
5. Be especially careful when using automated trading systems.
An EA that opens multiple positions may gradually move into higher margin bands. Traders should ensure their strategies account for these changing requirements.
6. Understand the risks of Gold trading.
Gold prices can react sharply to interest rate decisions, inflation reports, geopolitical developments, and other economic events.
8. Will Existing ONEXAR Clients Be Affected?
No. Your existing trading account and approved leverage conditions will remain unchanged.
The new Gold Dynamic Leverage Account is a separate account option.
Existing clients are not required to change their accounts or move to the new leverage structure.
The special account is available only upon request and approval, subject to ONEXAR's Terms & Conditions.
