TRADE Gold Leverage upto 500 Leverage an Exclusive ONEXAR

More Trading Flexibility. Lower Initial Margin. Special Conditions Apply.

Gold has always been one of the most popular assets among investors and traders worldwide. From long-term investors buying physical Gold to active traders participating in Gold price movements, the precious metal continues to attract significant interest.

But did you know that you don't necessarily need to pay the full value of Gold to participate in its price movements?

With leveraged trading, you can open a Gold trading position by depositing only a portion of its total value as margin.

ONEXAR is now introducing a special Gold trading account offering leverage of up to 1:500, exclusively upon request.

Let's understand how this works with a simple example.

1. Buying Physical Gold vs. Trading Gold with Leverage

Imagine the market price of Gold is $4,100 per troy ounce.

If you want to purchase 100 troy ounces of physical Gold, the approximate market value would be:

100 ounces × $4,100 = $410,000

You would need approximately $410,000 to purchase that quantity outright, excluding dealer premiums, taxes, storage, and other charges.

Now consider trading the same quantity of Gold through a leveraged CFD trading account.

In a standard Gold CFD contract, 1 lot commonly represents 100 troy ounces of Gold.

Instead of paying the entire $410,000, you provide an initial margin based on the applicable leverage.

Let's compare.

2. How Much Margin Is Required at Different Leverage Levels?

Assuming Gold is trading at $4,100 per ounce, here is the approximate margin required for a 1-lot Gold CFD position.

Without Leverage – 1:1

Full position value: $410,000

Required capital to fund the full position: $410,000

With 1:100 Leverage

Required initial margin: $4,100

With 1:200 Leverage

Required initial margin: $2,050

With 1:500 Leverage

Required initial margin: Just $820

This means that, under eligible conditions, a trader may open a 1-lot Gold CFD position with an initial margin of approximately $820 instead of funding the full $410,000 position value.

That's the advantage of leverage: greater market exposure with a smaller initial margin requirement.

However, the trader still faces the price risk associated with the full position size.

The $820 is not the purchase price of physical Gold, a maximum loss amount, or the total recommended account balance.

3. What Happens When the Gold Price Moves?

Let's continue with the same example.

A trader opens a 1-lot Gold buy position when Gold is trading at $4,100.

Now imagine Gold increases to $4,110.

That is a $10 increase per ounce.

Since 1 standard lot represents 100 ounces:

$10 × 100 ounces = $1,000 potential trading profit

Now consider the opposite situation.

If Gold falls from $4,100 to $4,090, the same position would experience approximately:

$1,000 trading loss

These examples exclude spreads, commissions, swaps, slippage, and other trading costs.

Important: Whether the trader uses 1:100, 1:200, or 1:500 leverage, the profit or loss on the same 1-lot position is identical for the same price movement.

Leverage changes the margin requirement, not the market movement or the position's underlying profit-and-loss calculation.

4. Why Are Traders Interested in 1:500 Leverage?

The main attraction of higher leverage is greater margin flexibility.

Lower Initial Margin

Eligible traders can open the same Gold position using less initial margin than with a lower leverage ratio.

Greater Free Margin

Lower initial margin requirements may leave more free margin available in the trading account.

However, free margin can decrease rapidly when open positions move against the trader.

Flexibility for Trading Strategies

Experienced traders may find higher leverage useful when managing smaller positions, short-term trades, or strategies requiring specific margin arrangements.

Access Through MetaTrader 5

ONEXAR provides Gold CFD trading through the MetaTrader 5 platform, which supports chart analysis, multiple order types, and Expert Advisors.

Higher leverage does not guarantee better results, and traders should never increase their position sizes simply because additional leverage is available.

5. Does 1:500 Leverage Mean You Can Trade Gold with Just $820?

Not necessarily.

The $820 in our example represents the approximate initial margin for one eligible 1-lot Gold position at a Gold price of $4,100.

It does not mean $820 is a safe or sufficient trading account balance.

Gold prices can fluctuate significantly, and even a relatively small price movement can produce a large profit or loss when trading 1 lot.

For example, a $10 adverse Gold price movement produces approximately a $1,000 loss on a 1-lot position.

A trader should therefore maintain sufficient account equity, use appropriate position sizing, and understand the applicable margin and stop-out conditions.

Higher leverage provides greater margin flexibility, but it also makes excessive trading exposure easier to take.

Important Risk Warning

Trading Gold through leveraged CFDs involves significant risk and may not be suitable for all investors. Leverage magnifies both potential gains and losses, and clients may lose their invested capital rapidly. All examples are for educational purposes only and assume a Gold price of $4,100 per troy ounce and a standard Gold contract size of 100 ounces per lot. The margin examples are illustrative and do not represent a guarantee that the stated leverage is available for every position size. The special 1:500 leverage offer is subject to eligibility, applicable trading conditions, and ONEXAR's Terms & Conditions. Clients should fully understand the risks and margin requirements before trading.
